Friends &
Neighbors,
Happy Labor Day
Weekend! This is a benchmark moment for most
of us. There are several different
definitions of the End of Summer. The
meteorological date is still three weeks
off. In many cases the academic date may
also be a week or more away. Still, Labor
Day Weekend functions as the social conclusion of
the summer season, at least here in
America.
But it's also a
beginning. For most voters Labor Day marks
the start of the Campaign Season. Here,
again, there are those of us who have been
laboring mightily on the campaign trail for months
now. For most, though, when we put away the
beach chairs it's time to get serious about the
political choices we'll all face just two months
from now.
I wrote an Op-Ed piece on
how we should approach the Labor Day
Holiday. It was picked up by a number of
papers around the state. If you'd like to
see a copy Click Here
And now, if you're ready
to dig into the details of the choices facing us
on November 4th, please read on. When you're
done, if you agree that my message of a fight for
smaller government as the fastest means to
Liberate the Economy is one your own Neighbors
& Friends should hear, please forward this
Newsletter to them. Encourage them to click
the link to sign up for it on their
own.

Republicans
Getting Together
 This
week our Party is the focus of attention as it
gathers in St. Paul nominate a national
ticket. Already we've had electrifying news
that reflects great credit on Sen. McCain's
ability to do what he said he'd do. He is Changing
the Game not only in this campaign but also in the
new government he'll bring to Washington.
His selection of Gov. Palin as a running mate
shows that McCain is serious about Reform, about
Social Values, and about Everybody's Individual
Rights.
It's a signal for GOP Candidates across
the spectrum to focus their own attention on the
things that make us Republicans. To some it might
sound like philosophy that's too general to apply
to specific campaigns: The Faith we place in
Individuals by granting them Authority over their
own pursuits of happiness, and expecting them to
exercise that authority Responsibly. The belief
that Individuals do things better and more
efficiently than government bureaucracy, which
informs our push for smaller less
intrusive government. The stand we take
for Leadership over regulation, so the
people will follow us because they choose to
not just because government programs have
channeled them in that direction.
 Republican
candidates are being reminded to take those ideas
to heart when they propose solutions to the
many local problems they are running to
resolve. Voters of every stripe should
look to that statue on the dome of the Rhode
Island State House, The Independent Man. It
is meant to represent the attitude of Rhode
Islanders that will always select what's best for
them, rather than simply go along with the
crowd.
When we all do what ought to be done the
result will be a marked improvement in our
government, from top to
bottom. |
It's not
All About Money...
But Some of It
Is. On this Labor Day it is
apparent that the work that has gone into Mark
Zaccaria's campaign for Congress has resulted in
the creation of a Winning Message. It is a message that turns
the spotlight away from government and back onto
the people of America, where it belongs. It
is a message of smaller government through smaller
taxation that will result in a decrease of
interference by central regulation. What
happens when that message is delivered? An
environment of order is created by the federal
government that functions as an umbrella
for us all. That legal and
cultural environment will act as a sea
wall against the waves of authoritarian or
fundamentalist opposition that might otherwise
crash over us. The message of this campaign
is that government can once again become the
servant of its people, handling routine
tasks so citizens are truly free to determine for
themselves what course they'll navigate as
they each pursues their own idea of
happiness.
The big
question is 'How far and how wide will Mark be
able to broadcast that Message?'
The limitation, of course, is
financial. The barrier to communication is
the cost of radio or TV. The obstacle to
better government is the daily mail which brings
us all so many worthwhile pleas that we ultimately
ignore each one.
So here's a question for you: Would you spend
$25.00 to take your family to the movies?.
You would? Great. Then would you spend
$25.00 to take your family to a better
America? If every one of the hundreds who
read this Newsletter would buy that ticket, we
would all get Leadership, for a change. We
would Liberate the Economy. We would send
that message to where it will actually do some
good: Washington, DC.

$25.00 Tickets to the Future, please Click

I hope your Labor Day
Holiday was restful and relaxing. Mine was
spent in preparation for the Lawn Sign Blitz
you'll start to see next week. I'm now ready
to move on to a full schedule of Meet & Greet
events and Door-to-Door campaigning from now until
Election Day. It's Retail Politics done face
to face with the voters of Glocester, or South
Kingstown, or Scituate.
And that's as it should be. Especially
since, as I mentioned above, it is a Labor of
Love.
Sincerely,
Mark Zaccaria Mark Zaccaria for

My own work these days
has been largely on the Campaign Trail.
It is a labor of love, as
you might expect. I feel called to
service because I am able and available... And
there is much to be done. It is also a job
of work I'm doing anxiously. The more
I dig into the details the more I realize
that our government needs to do things
differently and we have to make that
start right away. I only hope I can put
together a campaign sufficient to send
that message forcefully enough that people will
open their eyes.
I wrote a Letter to the Editor this
week that was a call to arms on this very
topic. You may have seen it in one
of the several papers that printed it.
If not, please get your own copy of this short but
strident message by Clicking
Here. If you agree that we all need
to re-think our support for incumbents at all
levels of government, this is another attachment
you can send out to your personal
contacts.
When you do, you will not only inform them
about the importance you place on this year's Vote
but you will also endorse me to them as someone to
look at on November 4th. Thank You!
