Adding to Your Investments May 3rd,
2008 |
|
Dear Supporters &
Friends,
With all the talk of tough economic times, I
thought you might like to have my views on a good Investment
Strategy for 2008.
It shouldn't be a surprise that I think you should invest
yourselves in the political campaigns of Candidates you think
can help our state and nation move forward. Just as with
the financial markets, there are a number of different
investment vehicles you can use. Any Candidate would
love to receive a cash contribution. There are a number
of other things you can do, though, that are almost as
important for your Candidate and may be an easier first step
for you.
The primary thing you have to do is understand your
candidate and believe that he or she can represent you better
than anyone else in the race. The more 'Invested' you
are in that candidacy the more you'll tout your guy to all
your friends & acquaintances. That kind of Buzz
helps a lot! It's the reason I asked last week
that you consider hosting me and a small group of
neighbors in your home. In early July Nominating
Petitions will circulate and they'll need signatures from any
registered voter if your Candidate is to even get on the
ballot. Of course you should sign them, but maybe you'll
be invested enough by then to take one door-to-door, or to a
kids' soccer game, or any other gathering to ask others to so
the same.
Get the picture? By November 4th I hope to have
enough Rhode Islanders from the Second District Invested in my
campaign that together we can bring better thinking to the US
House of Representatives. In the long run I hope to make
that choice a winning economic investment, as well.

Attention
Providence! Mark Kicks Off on Broad Street
Tomorrow
You know how good the Food
is at Ada's Creations, 1137 Broad St., in
Providence. Tomorrow Mark's Campaign Kicks-Off its
formal activities in Providence with an old fashioned
rally at Ada's. It all starts at 3:00pm.
There will be plenty of that good food and plenty
more good horse-sense about how the residents of the
Capitol's Community can participate more meaningfully in
crafting the overall Voice of the District.

| The Zacc Attack
Why is Mark a
Better Choice than a Four Term
Incumbent?
Because Mark is More Like You. He has had the
same experiences you have and he's been through the same
Hassles and Frustrations with Government that you
have.
In November you will cast your vote for a
Representative in Congress to speak for you in the next
session. Don't you want that voice to sound as
much like your own as it can? Like you, Mark has
been on active duty in the US Military, been a Small
Businessman, a Corporate Executive, a Parent, and a
petitioner to government. Your current Rep has
not.
Congress is a giant committee where actions can
only be taken when large groups of its members become
convinced that the item under discussion is the correct
course of action. Mark has also spent a career in
communicating, Selling if you will. That's just
one more reason that he'll out perform even a multi-term
incumbent.

Gov. Carcieri Invests
Urging Zaccaria On
at a State House Meeting
Last week Rhode Island Governor Don Carcieri
extended his hand to the MZD2 Campaign. At a
meeting in the State Room the Governor posed for
pictures and gave Mark his advice on how to move this
campaign forward.
The support of leading elected officials is a key
early step in Mark's Campaign. "Gov. Carcieri is a
Thought Leader here in Rhode Island." Mark said after
the meeting. "I am thrilled to have his advice and his
support."
The prestige and popularity this governor brings to
the District 2 Campaign will help convince many other
voters to give Mark a closer look.
When they do they'll find a Candidate who has been
seasoned by decades of doing business around the world,
as well as by being a husband and father right here in
the Ocean State.

There's a Light at the End of
the Tunnel
With Your Help We can All Get
There Together
I was down in Westerly this week to cheer on Town
Council Member Caswell Cooke Jr. as he announced a
run for the State Legislature.
His announcement was made to an energetic crowd of
nearly 150 supporters of all ages and backgrounds.
They cheered their Candidate when he spoke and they made
contributions to his treasury when he was done.
There was electricity in the room because everyone
present knew that Caswell will make a better State Rep
than the incumbent he aims to replace. Everyone in
the room knew that the failed policies of the inbred
supermajority on Smith Hill are responsible for the
incredible mess our state finances are in right
now. Everyone that I talked to recognized that the
Federal Budget isn't that far behind Rhode Island's
enroute to the edge of the cliff.
There's Light Ahead because when the Voters 'Get
It' like this they make the changes they need to
make. -MZ

When you cast a Weather Eye aloft do you see
the political winds shifting? Challengers frequently
cop-out to the Voters by using the tired old refrain that
'It's Time for a Change.' Folks, Change is
always in progress. Our society, our culture, our
government, and our entire world are always evolving...
Whether we like it or not. The question isn't
If there'll be change, but How that change
will be managed and shaped. Will we ride on the crest of
the changing tide and steer a course through it to a better
life? Or will we be swamped by change as it comes
breaking over us, unprepared?
I've got a campaign slogan that trades on
the current fashion for Change. In the case of my
call-to-arms, though, the emphasis is on the First word, not
the Last.
Leadership for a
Change!
Sincerely,
Mark Zaccaria Mark
